Sol Y Luna is our floating home, dog house, and office. Continuously she casts a net of endless opportunities and possibilities for new adventures far and wide. The sun “Sol” is meant to shine and “Y” the moon “Luna” is meant to glow. It is a wonderful reminder and daily inspiration of how to navigate life – light up the lives for all we encounter on land or by sea.

Cruising Preparedness
When cruising with animals extra precautions need to be considered. It is often a smart idea to have multiple copies of health records, have access to an online vet, build a well stocked first aid supply kit, and make sure to have the required entry and permitting. It is also imperative not letting vaccinations lapse.
Boat Projects
Making boat life easier with dogs on board is an on going evolution. we still have work to do to customize her for our lifestyle and to keep her beautiful. Here is the heart and “sol” – Sol Y Luna is a 2008 Meridian 341 that provides the perfect space and live aboard functionality for our time spent on board. She offers the perfect balance between usability, upgraded amenities, and cruising safety. The boat also lends itself to a great entertaining space with its flow, lightness, and design. She has a roomy salon, one stateroom, a guest room, one bathroom with shower, and a full galley. Originally purchased in the San Francisco Bay area of California, she was moved down to her new port of Santa Barbara Harbor.
Daily Marina Living
Living on a boat and having a home port is much like having a place to come back to. It is a very unique experience living on the ocean compared to land. The lifestyle offers so many opportunities to build a deep sense of community, connection, and camaraderie. Get a better idea of what daily life is like when living on board a boat.
